I joined his Photoserge Academy in 2018 and in 2020 became the second graduate from his Photoserge Institute of Photography earning a Master of Photography. I developed my basic skills from that but learned the most from my mentor Serge Ramelli, a renowned French photographer from Paris. Mike noticed how much I enjoyed photography so he surprised me with my first digital camera, and I was hooked! I dreamed of going pro and selling my work someday, but first, I had to learn.Īfter Mike and I moved to Florida in 2009 I went to photo clubs, mainly in Vero Beach and took online courses to improve. That took guts to start with that financial pressure, but he saw a need and high demand and it eventually provided for the family. My father is a mechanical engineer and started his business as I went off to college with three younger teenagers behind me. My father and husband are both self-employed and seeing them build successful businesses gave me the confidence to start my photography business. We did high-quality work and gave excellent customer service, keeping long-term clients. I wore many hats managing the business: prepping the repairs, mixing paints, bookkeeping, meeting with clients, and customer service. I taught elementary art in Pennsylvania for nine years and eventually left it to help my husband Mike manage his rapidly growing car repair business. I enjoyed photography as just a hobby and had no idea I would make a career of it twenty-four years later.

I focused on drawing, painting, and especially art history, but when I took a photography class I learned how to use the darkroom, and using a camera captivated me. I love art, and when I was a child I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Hi Liesl, so excited to have you with us today. Today we’d like to introduce you to Liesl Walsh.
